The streetwear culture is broad and can be difficult to understand for newcomers to this very particular environment. How could you not bring up Brian Donnelly aka Kaws? A major multi-tasking artist, Kaws has contributed through his work to placing art at the heart of this culture. Nike Sb: The Dunk Book

The Dunk Book celebrates the one that came out in 2002. This book brings together more than ten years of archives, interspersed with skateboard photos. Some pairs even have small explanations to better understand why the Dunk became a legendary sneaker.

Hiroshi Fujiwara : Fragment

This book tells the story of one of the mythical characters of the sneaker game. The boss of Fragment Design has a strong history with Nike and Jordan, through his label as well as through his own name. A member of the legendary HTM trio that mixes him with Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, Hiroshi Fujiwara is a true cultural icon.

Since 2006, Michael Dupouy and his All Gone have been the most famous retrospective of streetwear culture. Each year, the All Gone offers to discover or rediscover the best collaborations and releases of the past year. The sneakers, items and textile capsules of the year are summarized month after month without forgetting anything and are explained and defined by its author. A small particularity is that each book comes out in several versions, more or less exclusive, making the task of collecting more difficult.

Released at the end of 2019 by Rizzoli, Collab: Sneakers & Culture, is written by Elizabeth Semmelhack and Jacques Slade. The latter goes back over the meaning of the word collaboration and takes us back to its genesis before propelling us on to the most exclusive collaborations which are explained and detailed to understand everything about them. Kaws, Murakami, Travis Scott, Undefeated or 50CENT, HTM and Union LA, all are there to be told.
