It’s been a while but here we are again with the top album release of the week where we give you tips about all the projects you should to check out.
Beast Coast – Escape From New York
Beast Coast is a supergroup made-up of the Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers and some members from the Pro Era Collective (including Joey Bada$$). Supported by the two singles “Coast Clear” and “Left Hand”, the album is made of 13 tracks. EFNY is close to a musical orgy made in New York, an act that will please all East Coast rap fans.
Kobo – Période d’essai
The Belgian rapper Kobo just dropped his very first album. Named Période d’essai, the project has 17 songs including the singles “All Eyes On Me”, “Nostalgie”, “Charbon” and the phenomenal “Baltimore”. With this first project, Kobo literally reveals himself to the world. The rapper shows us that to make it no compromise is really necessary, you can be lyrical and melodic at the same time and get out there.
YG – 4REAL 4REAL
“4REAK x2” is YG’s fourth album. Initially scheduled to drop in April, the rapper decided otherwise after the sudden loss of his peer and friend Nipsey Hussle. Constantly pushed back since then, the album is finally available. Supported by the singles “Stop Snitchin” et “Go Loko”, the album has 14 tracks and features collabs with the likes of Tyga, Valee, Meek Mill, G-Eazy and much more.
Lord Esperanza & Majeur-Mineur – Drapeau Blanc
The young french rapper Lord Esperanza is back with a whole project. Spearheaded by the singles “Ola”, “Illusoire” and “Autre Verre”, Drapeau Blanc has 14 songs and features the french singer Yseult. the project was entirely produced by french producer Majeur-Mineur with whom he also released the collaborative EP Drapeau Noir, one of his very first projects.
Steve Lacy – Apollo XXI
The Internet member Steve Lacy just dropped his first studio album. The first single of the album “N-Side” dropped in early april. At the beginning of the week, the singer/guitarist teased the album with two songs: “Playground” and “Outro Freestyle”. The project has 12 tracks and only one featuring by singer Daisy.
$uicideboy$ & Travis Barker – Live Fast, Die Whenever
Collaborative EP between the duo of $uicideboy$ and the almost-legendary drummer of Blink-182, LFDW is a 6 songs project supported by the following singles : “Aliens Are Ghosts” et “nothingleftnothingleft”. Originating from New Orleans, the 2 cousins of $uicideboy$ are considered by many to be among the forefathers of the trap metal genre alongside artists like XXXTentacion, Ski Mask the Slump God and OG Maco to name a few.
Flying Lotus – Flamagra [Bonus]
After 5 years of hiatus, the producer/DJ/rapper Flying Lotus is finally back. FlyLo comes back with his sixth album in tow. With a whooping 25 tracks, the album features artists like Anderson .Paak, Tierra Whack, Denzel Curry and more. The project has 2 singles to date : “More” and “Black Balloon Reprise”.
