Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro reunited by Netflix for The Irishman

After the recent success of the film Roma at the Oscar ceremony last weekend, Netflix is moving on to another project made for ceremonies with The Irishman, with Martin Scorsese as director.

The collaboration between the giant Netflix and Martin Scorsese has made a lot of headlines in recent days. An enigmatic and obscure teaser was unveiled yesterday by the streaming platform where we can see a ball passing through the screen as the names of the film’s various stars pass by. Robert de Niro, who made his last appearance in a film by the famous Italian-American director in the 1990s for Casino, has already been confirmed. As for the rest of the cast, actors familiar with Scorsese’s movies joined the feature film: Joe Pesci (Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino) or Harvey Keitel (Mean Streets, Taxi Driver and The Last Temptation of Christ). The Irishman will focus on the life of the famous assassin Franck Sheeran, suspected of executing Jimmy Hoffa, the corrupt leader of the Teamsters (American Truck Drivers Union), among others. The latter will be played by Al Pacino, things becoming full circle . This will be an opportunity for these two American film monsters to compete several years after the masterpiece Heat.

Rendez vous next fall to on Netflix to discover The Irishman. Expectations are high for this film, which according to reports has been allocated an exponential budget of 140 million euros.
