Every year Doernbecher project comeback with new silhouettes imagined by unique designers, here are the Nike Doernbecher 2018 creations.
Started in 2003, the Freestyle Doernbecher program that takes its title from the pediatric institute’s name, chooses each year six kids hospitalized there and make them realise their dream pairs, similarly to a Bespoke. Without limits in colorways and models, this initiative raised near 20 million dollars and created unique sneakers that went down in history, such as the Jordan 4 DB “Superman”.
This year the 6 designers are Chloe Swientek on an Air Force 1, Donovon Dinneen with a Jordan XV, Aiden Barber on an Air Max 270, Joey Bates chose the Dunk Low, Kirsten Brown with the Air Max 97 and Payton Fentress on a Zoom Fly. Check out Nike website for more detailed info and behind the scenes.
These sneakers created from the Nike Doernbecher 2018 edition will release 14 December and all proceeds from the sale will be fully directed towards Portland’s hospital.
