It is always nice to see original works reappear, especially after 20 years of absence. This is the case for these two Nike Air Max Max Plus OG The Grid.
It was in 1999, one year after the release of the Air Max Plus, that these “Grid” iterations were released. It was less successful than its predecessors but they did have some notoriety in French suburbs. Moreover, at that time, these editions were nicknamed “grids” because of their mesh pattern on the top. The first presented here is the Cool Grey/Neutral Grey/Varsity Red-White” version and it was the first one with this specific design, alongside the “Royal Blue”, to be released. The waves, so characteristic of the model, are here translucent to give place to the white grid pattern on a grey background. The outsole is also transparent and the whole is enhanced with Varsity Red on the Swoosh and airbags.
The other, less famous 2000 colour is composed of navy blue and orange yellow. Designed on the same pattern as the “Varsity Red”, this TN has a Navy mudguard and an orange-yellow grid on the upper, as well as on its Swoosh and airbags. The waves are always transparent in order to reveal the pattern, but here the outsole is black.
We don’t have an official release date yet for these Nike Air Max Plus OG The Grid, they would seem to be released in the first months of 2019. We hope to discover many more OG colours for the Air Max Plus TN “La Requin” and we will talk about them as soon as we have more information to share with you. And what Air Max Plus would you like to see come back ?
In other swoosh news, two new React Element 87 colorway are planned for 2019.
