It was the news of the day that shook the whole sphere of fashion: Raf Simons left the position of artistic director at Calvin Klein.
Although the Belgian designer’s talent is no longer to be proven, working for the biggest houses while keeping his own expected line like the Messie at every fashion week, it would seem that this sudden departure is due to a discord within the brand. Indeed, CK separated from the designer “after Calvin Klein, Inc. decided on a new brand orientation that differs from Simons’ creative vision. Nevertheless, another reason could come into play, last November the general manager of PVH Emanuel Chirico (the group that owns CK) blamed the drop in sales as well as the commercial failure of the CK205W39NYC line, born during his management and which did not achieve the expected results.
The position remains vacant and we are eager to see which house Raf Simons will move to.
