This weekend, two top players from the Street Fighter pro scene caused a sensation in a memorable artistic performance.

Indeed, Sakono and Itabashi Zangief in one Ryu / Ryu versus realized an anthology round that many took as an exceptional turnaround. Nevertheless, it should be noted that this choreography was actually a performance in a Japanese show, which sought to pass the combat video game off as a martial art. In addition to a millimetric synchronization, many of thise moves are rarely used in a purely competitive context, because they leave too much to protect themselves. Moreover, the two pros players do not play Ryu, the main character of the series. Finally, a tournament takes place in two winning rounds and not in one. Apart from the artistic dimension of the thing, the two players also wanted to pay tribute to an iconic moment of versus fighting, which speaks for itself.

This mirror “match” Ryu is to be found below as well as the real technical achievement that echoes it.
